Preserving Heritage,
Fostering Unity
We bridge traditional Cameroonian heritage and modern Canadian institutional standards, serving the Kom community across the diaspora.
OUR ROOTS
The History of the Kom People
Hailing from the Grassfields of Cameroon’s North West Region, the Kom people are renowned for a rich cultural heritage, intricate woodcarvings and the sacred Afo-A-Kom. Ours is a history of resilience and pride, organised around the Fon of Kom and the palace at Laikom.
Kom Canada began in 2009 as a circle of families in Toronto. Today it is a registered non-profit with a written constitution, an elected national executive and chapters in nine cities — keeping the flame alive so the next generation stays connected to these roots.
